Yolanda commenced her judo career when she was 14 and started her judo training ‘just for fun’. However it only took a few short weeks for Yolanda to decide that judo, as a sport, was absolutely part of her destiny. Yolanda said “I was so impressed by the discipline the passion , I began to see how judo could change my life, forever”.

“I was so impressed by the discipline and the passion , I began to see how judo could change my life, forever”.

Yolanda learnt, as she continued with her training, that judo, actually prepares you to face life, and teaches you values that are so important to the building of your character. Values including:  courtesy, courage, sincerity, honesty, loyalty, respect, discipline and above all how to control yourself.  Yolanda describes judo as a beautiful sport, one she truly believes has shaped her character and has served her well in her personal life.

Yolanda was quoted as saying “Judo is like everyday life, you fall down and you bounce back and face your challenges head on.”

Yolanda has become passionate about training and is now very much enjoying passing on her knowledge, her experience, her wisdom, to her students at UTS Judo.

Yolanda believes that one of the very best opportunities you can provide to your children is Judo, whether they are boys or girls, judo, will give them courage, discipline, respect, drive and is one of the keys to building a strong character and disposition. Yolanda has qualified as a 2nd Dan Black Belt.
